Our Board
Nicole McArthur, DVM

Nicole is a second generation veterinarian who is also married to a veterinarian. She graduated from UC Irvine in 1995 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology, and then from UC Davis in 2001 with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. After graduation, she entered dairy practice with her husband and her father, but quickly realized she was better suited for small animal practice. Nicole worked as GP, an emergency vet and a relief vet before taking a few years off to be a stay at home mommy. Now that her kids are older, Nicole works part time at a 2 doctor practice in Northern California.
Seeing a need for veterinarians to be able to communicate openly with their peers, Nicole started a secret Facebook group called Not One More Vet. She initially added a few classmates and local colleagues: friends she knew who would be receptive to talking candidly amongst each other. What began as a group of 20 people on October 1, 2014 has steadily grown to over 10,000 veterinarians worldwide.
Nicole has been fortunate enough to find four wonderful people to help her 'herd the cats' on NOMV: Drs. Carrie Jurney, Jason Sweitzer, David Bledsoe and Melanie Metz Goble. Late in 2016, we determined that the next logical step would be to incorporate NOMV and form a 501(c)3 charity. In addition to providing emotional support on our FB page, we will soon be able to provide financial and professional mental health support as well.
When not shuttling kids or fixing animals, Nicole enjoys spending time with her family and pets. Her many hobbies include trail running, photography, knitting, raising backyard chickens and most recently, soap making.
