I have been looking for ways to get back to using the right brain since my left brain has been beaten to a pulp all throughout vet school, an internship, and on a daily basis in practice. I have also been trying to relax and really enjoy my down time, which usually involves wine and a good book. Recently, I was noticing a large number of wine bottles were accumulating and instead of throwing them out, I decided to try and find a way to utilize them – and so became wine art. Apparently, there is nothing a quick Pinterest search can’t come up with. Although there are far fancier ways to do these, I was asked to share my very basic, easy to accomplish in an afternoon, no power tools necessary way of making cute, light up wine bottles.
I’m really not going to get technical here but I will provide a few helpful tips.
In closing….have fun with it! Imperfect is the art of individual perfection. I enjoy making them as gifts while they also allow me to drink wine (to make sure I maintain an art supply of course). They are also fun for kids and they love that they created their own night lights. Go crazy or keep it simple, play with color, shapes, design, etc. Just have fun, relax, sit back, paint, and drink!
