As my post vacation brain tries to catch the tide of my life again (did anyone notice that I just posted a "Wednesday" blog article on a Thursday... sigh), I had a momentary struggle of thinking what to say in this blog post. Let me assure you, being at a loss for words is a terrifying moment for an extrovert.
But I started to ponder about my life and the people that make it easier. I'm certain I could get through without them, but gosh- it would just be less pleasant. So especially given my trip last week- one person in particular came to mind:
Robin is a great veterinary ER receptionist- the type who can triage, stays cool under pressure and tries very hard to keep clients happy. While I appreciate that skill, I value even more her willingness to come watch my pets on a moments notice. Seriously- my travel schedule can get nuts and my husband's job can require last minute travel as well, so on a moment's notice sometimes I need someone to come. I've since left the clinic where we both worked together. And my new house is a LONG drive for her, but she always comes. I seriously appreciate her. I appreciate that she shows affection to the husband's jerk cat. That she text me pictures of the cats, because she knows I'm a crazy cat lady. I appreciate that she thinks of little things like having fresh sheets on the bed when we get home. And she tolerates my absent mindedness. (Yes, I forgot to buy cat litter again.) Going out of town could be a lot harder. Robin takes away a lot of that stress.
What about you guys? Is there someone you appreciate? A tech? A family member? Who makes your life just a tad easier?
