by Carrie Jurney DVM DACVIM (Neuro) As much as I would love to say that I work out every day, it just ain't so. I try and I usually hit 4 or 5 workouts a week, which I feel okay about. My running coach schedules me for six workouts- it's an awesome week when I manage all six.
But, as I've gotten older I've noticed I have to do some stuff daily or I hurt all the time. So every morning while the shower is heating up I try to do a mini-workout. Some weeks its planks, or trying to do pushups (I suck at pushups). Other weeks its leg lifts and bridges. This week it has been squats- at least 40. It takes less than two minutes, and even if I don't get to my workout, I did something and I don't feel 90 years old when I'm trying to pick up a down dog at work. Amusingly, my husband caught me the other morning (we don't usually get ready at the same time) and declared I was a crazy person. Apparently naked squats in the bathroom is not normal behavior to some people. I told him that I've always been crazy, and he's the one who picked me so what does that say about him. Regardless of how crazy it probably looks, maybe try a quickie bathroom workout this week? Clothing optional.

Awesome I used to do this in school, it's a great few minutes for push ups, sit-ups, and crunches. Of course at the time it was to look good for going out to meet women... I completely forgot about doing it but I'm going to use this as an excuse to start doing something.
