I'm writing this on a Friday. A Friday where I have a 10 hour long To-Do list. Things stretching from getting this blog taken care of to laundry & grocery shopping to doing expense reports for my mobile company.
You may be saying to yourself "Jesus Carrie, Isn't this post supposed to be about relaxing. You are stressing me the F* out."
But, the entire reason today is crazy, is that I'm clearing my way to relax this week. I'm motivated to get this list done, because tomorrow first thing I'm headed to wine country for a quick weekend away with friends. It's made me think about relaxation, and how important it is. And even more than that, how hard it is, barring a trip out of town, to schedule that time in our lives.
If I had a whole weekend at home in front of me, I doubt seriously I would be this productive today. Plenty of time to get that list done. But then I wouldn't really have any large blocks of down time to relax. So, my friends, I encourage you to do what you can to shift a few things from your days off in to the rest of your week. Schedule some time to relax- to eat a meal with friends, to watch your favorite TV shows or play with your kids. Give yourself a break. You deserve it.
