I love food. Seriously, if I was a dog I would be a Labrador. And not like the well behaved seven year old Labrador. I'm the idiot three year old Lab who has been to your clinic like 20 times this year for garbage gut. I have only experienced the feeling of not wanting to eat once and 18 hours later I had my appendix removed.
I will eat almost anything too. If you set it in front of me, the plate will be cleaned in a shocking small amount of time. I have almost zero self control in the moment. The only time I have control over the ravenous beast who lives inside me is when I'm doing my meal planning/prep.
So I've been trying to take back control of my diet. I found these cool little containers at the Safeway a few weeks ago and bought five of them. So far this system has been working well.
I buy a rotisserie chicken with my groceries, or if I'm making chicken I make extra. Sunday night I prep all the containers. I add in some salad greens, some snacking veggies and a handful of nuts. I throw one in my bag every day whether I'm going to the clinic or running errands in the car. It significantly decreases the chance that I will be eating Taco Bell.
The containers have a built in knife and fork, which is awesome cause eating salad with a tongue depressor, while possible, is a bit challenging.
Does anyone else food prep like this?
When I was thinking about doing it a I saw a large variety of cool techniques-
like salads in a mason jar. I would love to hear what tricks work for you.
